Reading Time: < 1 minutes

long empty hallways
marbled stairways
the holy grounds

I whispered my desires to a god that had been long dead
an empty plea
written in scripture
spoken in ancient languages
a divine secret

our world was sacred
the songs we sang repeating through my mind
worship hymnals
you composed just for me

the divine sin
your lustful prayers reach out to mine
baptized in the rivers that flow through your eyes
in a moment i understood perfectly why eve ate the apple

you were my secret hymnal
the prayer i screamed out in the middle of the night
the wine that drips from my mouth when i beg for forgiveness
my favorite sin
